How many of you are using Twitter? It is a very interesting mini-bogging tool that allows you to send short (140 character) messages to anyone who chooses to follow you. What attracts me is that I can send spontaneous thoughts, quick ideas or urgent requests to my followers from either my mobile phone or a web browser. People choose to follow someone o or not and can "unfollow" them as easily. For a recruiter, Twitter could be very useful as a way to nudge people/candidates they haven't heard from in a while or to send targeted messages about the position or company to a select group of followers.
I think everyone should give this a try. It is free and very easy to get started. You can use it from your Blackberry or other smart phone. And more and more people are familiar with it. Usage has grown rapidly over the past two years in the U.S. and is becoming the referred way for many bloggers to communicate.
